We teach a number of methods in our Humanities Computing MA and have a research methods course. One general area of methods that has turned out to be important is interface design and usability. Students often need to either learn methods for designing an interface or methods for evaluating an interface. Other methods we use include oral histories and content analysis. We also encourage students to ask about methods and what the difference is between methods and practices. Methodical thinking could be said to be itself a method, and not always the best one.
